This event stood out from others in the field of Smart Grids - the depth and breadth of speakers from Australia and overseas set it apart.
The forum was thought provoking and challenging, it brought together thinking and views of people at the leading edge of smart grid development, and enabled me to better understand how the future will pan out for distribution companies. Definitely a worthwhile investment for our company.
National Smart Grid Forum successfully attracted a broad range of high level speakers and attendees that assisted government, regulators, industry and stakeholders in developing alignment in understanding of the applications, the importance of understanding customer behaviours, the risks associated with implementation and the challenges around data and communication requirements and managment.
Having recently returned to the ESI after some private industry and government experiences, I found the intensive format (24 presentations in 2 days) mixing various perspectives helped me firm up my thoughts and understandings around smart grids.
The Smart Grids conference was a great opportunity to gain insight into the progress being made by utilities and regulators on both a local and global scale.
